A crescente e generalizada artificialidade no mundo possibilita o desenvolvimento de uma realidade paralela, de dissimulações geradas pela nossa insatisfação com o estado natural da vida em geral. A popularização de artifícios estéticos, modelos “photoshopadas”, alimentos modificados, entre outros, inseridos em nosso cotidiano comprova que lidamos cada vez mais com realidades virtuais em vez de naturais. Assim, passei a notar cenas constantes de uma natureza artificializada na cidade de São Paulo em árvores, jardins e parques que são iluminados por uma forte fonte de luz artificial que intensifica, maximiza e artificializa a cor verde original das plantas. Para conseguir esse efeito, utilizam-se lâmpadas especiais, do tipo multivapor metálico, com temperatura de cor verde. Meu projeto explora esse tipo de luz usando a fotografia como suporte para criar e registrar as imagens que intitulei de: Natureza - Urbana - Artificial; elas são captadas apenas com a luz original dos refletores com lâmpada verde; logo, uso apenas câmera e tripé. As fotos são produzidas na cidade de São Paulo sempre à noite para que a iluminação evidencie essa outra maneira de ver o meio ambiente, com uma atmosfera misteriosa e sombria, contrastando as cores vibrantes e saturadas produzidas pela iluminação. Isso faz com que as imagens permeiem entre o natural/real e o artificial/ilusório, incentivando o observador a explorar a imagem e a descobrir os detalhes da cena e das texturas da vegetação.

The expanding and general artificiality in the world enable the development of a sideline reality and dissimulations created by our dissatisfaction with the natural state of life. The popularization of aesthetic gimmicks, Photoshop models, genetically modified food, etc., set in our everyday lives prove that we deal more and more with virtual realities instead of the natural ones. I started noticing constant scenes of an artificial nature in the City of São Paulo, more specifically in its trees, gardens and parks that are illuminated by a strong source of artificial light that intensifies, maximizes and “artificializes” the original green color on plants. To get that effect, special lamps are used (metal halide, and its color temperature is, of course, green). My project is about that type of light and through my photographs I create and register the images I entitled as: Nature - Urban - Artificial; they are shot with their original light coming from the spotlights with green bulbs; I used only my camera and a tripod. The pictures are taken in the City of São Paulo always at night so the illumination can present this other way of seeing the environment: with a mysterious and dark atmosphere, contrasting with the vibrant and saturated colors produced by the illumination. It seeps the images between natural/real and artificial/misleading, encouraging the observer to investigate the shots and perceive all details and vegetation textures.
